Working Principle

Schematic diagram The TOC-600 TOC Analyzer uses a UV lamp to oxidize slowly flowing water samples. The TOC value of the sample is obtained by measuring the change in conductivity before and after oxidation. Under the action of a peristaltic pump, the water sample enters a PTFE tubing line, passing sequentially through the first electrode, the quartz spiral tube, and the second electrode, before finally being discharged through the waste tube. During detection, the conductivity values of both sensors are simultaneously recorded to obtain G1 and G2. Organic matter in the water sample is oxidized by dual UV lamps to produce CO₂, which increases conductivity. The corresponding total organic carbon is derived from the difference (G2 – G1).
