Working Principle
Organic compounds in the sample are oxidized to carbon dioxide under UV light. The CO₂ concentration is measured using direct conductivity detection. The total organic carbon concentration is calculated by measuring the total inorganic carbon (TIC or IC) of the non-oxidized sample and the total carbon (TC) of the oxidized sample: TOC = TC – TIC
