The TOC-600E Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Analyzer uses ultraviolet (UV) light to oxidize slowly flowing water samples. Organic compounds in the sample are oxidized to CO₂, and the CO₂ concentration is measured using conductivity detection technology. The TOC value of the water sample is obtained by comparing the conductivity before and after oxidation.

    Working Principle

    Organic compounds in the sample are oxidized to carbon dioxide under UV light. The CO₂ concentration is measured using direct conductivity detection. The total organic carbon concentration is calculated by measuring the total inorganic carbon (TIC or IC) of the non-oxidized sample and the total carbon (TC) of the oxidized sample: TOC = TC – TIC
