    Product Details

    Working Principle

    Difference method: The sample is fully oxidized to carbon dioxide and water by UV/persulfate oxidation. After condensation and dehydration, CO₂ is measured using a non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) detector to determine total carbon (TC) content. The inorganic carbon in the sample is decomposed into carbon dioxide and water by acid reagent. After condensation and dehydration, CO₂ is measured by NDIR to determine total inorganic carbon (TIC) content. TOC = TC – TIC.   

    Direct method: The inorganic carbon in the sample is first decomposed into carbon dioxide and water by acid reagent to remove total inorganic carbon (TIC). Then the organic carbon in the sample is decomposed into carbon dioxide and water by UV/persulfate oxidation. After condensation and dehydration, CO₂ is measured by NDIR to directly determine TOC content.
