Product Details
Working Principle
The TOC-900 uses ultraviolet radiation and a chemical oxidant (persulfate) to oxidize organic compounds, producing carbon dioxide (CO₂). The analyzer measures CO₂ using a sensitive, selective membranebased conductivity detection technique. For TOC measurement, the total inorganic carbon (TIC) concentration is determined first. After oxidation of organic compounds, the total carbon (TC) content is measured. The organic carbon concentration equals TC minus TIC (TOC = TC – TIC).
